SUMMARY : A student in New York, Gloria Davis is finalizing her thesis, which aims to demonstrate that cannibalism is a myth. To support her research, she travels to Colombia, to a village in the Amazon, accompanied by her brother Rudy and her friend Pat Johnson. There, the trio meets two unscrupulous adventurers, Mike Logan and Joe Costolani, involved in drug trafficking and responsible for barbaric acts against indigenous people. The latter will soon take revenge, in the most cruel way...
ABOUT THE FILM : Shot a year after Ruggero Deodato 's famous Cannibal Holocaust, Cannibal Ferox is the work of Umberto Lenzi , renowned among other things for his gialli (The Knife of Ice), but also the founding father of the cannibal film with In the Land of Exorcism (1972).
A work that reached the heights of gore, Cannibal Ferox was banned in 31 countries at the time. The cast includes Lorraine De Selle (The House at the End of the Park), Zora Kerova (The Libertines), Giovanni Lombardo Radice (Bloody Bird), Robert Kerman (Cannibal Holocaust), and Venantino Venantini (The Tontons Flingueurs).
