SUMMARY : Towards the end of the 19th century, in the Eastern Carpathians, Romania – After crossing the Borgo Pass, a carriage loses a wheel; the frightened horses accidentally kill the coachman before fleeing. The five passengers, four women (Senta, Karen, Elke, and Marlene) and one man (Imre Polvi), find themselves isolated in the middle of the forest. Imre convinces the passengers to head to an old sanatorium to find help. There, the group meets the new owner of the place, Dr. Wendell Marlowe. He agrees to take them in. But the supposed doctor is hiding a dark secret.
ABOUT THE FILM : Filmed in 1972, Count Dracula's Great Love was shown to the public for the first time at the Paris Fantastic Festival the following year. This was its only screening in France, either in theaters or on physical media. Half a century later, this rare work, directed by Javier Aguirre (The Hunchback of the Morgue), rises from its ashes with a Blu-ray release. It's an opportunity to rediscover Paul Naschy (real name Jacinto Molina), an iconic actor and director of Spanish cinema, immortalized by his character of the lycanthrope Waldemar Daninsky.
