There, she meets Gianna, a seductive photographer who has set up her studio in the basement, and Marco, her stepfather, a penniless nobleman who manages the business. While Nancy questions her mother's actions, Magda, the housekeeper, confides in her that she has doubts about suicide. And the idyllic image of a blended family soon becomes tarnished when, during an outing to a lake, Nancy almost drowns under the imperturbable gaze of her stepfather...
