SUMMARY : Éliane and Juliette share a suburban house that shelters their love affair. One day, Éliane takes in an injured man from her car: Pierre, a gangster who has just escaped. She decides to hide the fugitive in the house, then treats his wounds. While Éliane soon succumbs to the gangster's charms, he discovers that Juliette has a lover, Gérard. Pierre then uses this situation to his advantage to sow discord between the two women and manipulate them as he sees fit. But they rebel.

ABOUT THE FILM : An erotic thriller shot in 1973 by Eddy Matalon (Such a Nice Little Girl, New York Blackout), Praying Mantis was banned from theatrical release by the censorship board and underwent several cuts before being able to be shown to the public a few months later. Praying Mantis is offered here in its complete and restored version, the opportunity to discover this unusual closed-door film bringing together the superb Jackie Lombard and Marika Pica , as well as Alain Saury (The Essayist) and Alain Tissier (The Bourne Identity, The Naked Sex), who was José Bénazéraf's regular actor. A film completely unseen since its theatrical release.
